The Richmond Review
May 15, 2016
Ok, so it might not be the most original name for a blog. But this is why I chose it:
1. Many years ago - 27 to be exact - I wrote my first Richmond Review. I wanted to include the highlights of my year in Christmas cards to friends in Brazil (where I grew up) and in the States (where I went to University). Everyone writes them nowadays, but back in 1989 it was unique. So the name has provenance, which is always a good thing.
2. It was available.
3. It gives me the chance to keep an online copy of all the Richmond Reviews I've written (see below); of the highlights of my last 27 years. I'm missing a few. But I'll find them and add them.
I grew up in Brazil and went to University in the States. I got my big break on the Big Breakfast in 1993 and went on to series produce Changing Rooms, Ready Steady Cook and Don’t Get Done Get Dom for BBC1. I developed, helped launch & headed up digital and mobile TV channels (London TV for Visit London and Today on 3 Live for 3 mobile) and produced shows ranging from Topless Darts to Fate & Fortune for L!VETV. In 2008 I set up findaTVexpert.com, an online database of experts for the media. After eight successful years I decided to close it. I'm now figuring out what to do next and enjoying long weekends with my husband on our barge on the Thames.
