I'm an Extra!
May 17, 2016
Good look eh? On the 8th of May (see below) I was feeling guilty about not having a plan. I tried to do nothing for a while but it drove me mad. So I had a clearout; finished my zen-ish deck garden; took a load of things to a charity shop; and joined several extra/supporting artists. And I got lucky! On the 11th of May I was booked for a 'fitting' and on the 12th, 15th and 16th of of May I was on the set of a new period drama (hence the hairdo and clothes). I can't tell you anything about the programme but it was lovely to be involved without having to be in charge. The filming days are long (6am-8pm) - and I'm basically a human prop - but it's a great atmosphere and a lovely bunch of people. Filming is scheduled to continue until August, so I really hope I'll get some more bookings.
I grew up in Brazil and went to University in the States. I got my big break on the Big Breakfast in 1993 and went on to series produce Changing Rooms, Ready Steady Cook and Don’t Get Done Get Dom for BBC1. I developed, helped launch & headed up digital and mobile TV channels (London TV for Visit London and Today on 3 Live for 3 mobile) and produced shows ranging from Topless Darts to Fate & Fortune for L!VETV. In 2008 I set up findaTVexpert.com, an online database of experts for the media. After eight successful years I decided to close it. I'm now figuring out what to do next and enjoying long weekends with my husband on our barge on the Thames.
